Prayers for our children from the book of Proverbs.
O God our help in ages past, our hope for years to come, help me to teach my children Your righteous commands and may they always remember and not forget them. May they keep Your word hidden in their hearts. Give them long lives of holy living before You in love. Enjoin them to follow peace with all humankind and seek and possess
peace with You and not settle for less than that peace that passes all understanding. Oh that they would always be merciful, truthful, and honest. Give them the courage to embrace God’s truth and the discipline to write it upon their hearts. Father, I ask not that they seek or receive the honor and favor of humankind, but if such would befall them let it be because they are well thought of and esteemed because of their careful walk with You. Give them a love for righteousness and holiness and may all who love righteousness and holiness love them. But, aside from the favor of humankind, let them first and foremost seek Your pleasure and favor from Your eyes. I ask not that they be rich in the things of this world, but that they be rich in Christ regardless of what their material station in life may be.
In the strong name of Jesus our Lord and Savior. Amen.
