Prayers for our children from the book of Proverbs.
Our Father and our God, thank You for giving us our children and posterity. May wisdom and knowledge enter their hearts and souls. Let them never be content with what they have learned, but always reach for more. Help them realize that learning increases discretion and understanding. Lead them not into temptation, but deliver them from evil in all of its forms and the evil one in all his disguises. Lead them in a way so that they are not mere products of their culture, but guide them to transcend it and all its perversity. Teach them to seek the whole counsel of God that they may walk in the light as You are in the light. Train them to recognize, fear, and despise the darkness of sin and evil. Keep them from the perverseness of the evil, the crooked ways of the devious, the seductions of immorality – these all lead to death and degradation. May they embrace goodness, righteousness, and uprightness. May they be blameless before You in love, meek, and found faithful.
In the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen!
From Proverbs 2:10 – 22.
